Keeping Parts Flowing for Essential Infrastructure

There’s never a good time for an event like the COVID-19 outbreak, but humbly we should all appreciate that it happened after cloud-delivered software solutions became a thing.  During these times, the usual list of advantages of cloud-hosted solutions aren’t worth touting, the key advantage to focus on in these times is their ability to permit workers to be socially distant, quarantined at home, and still help keep essential parts of our infrastructure operating without risking further spread of the coronavirus.  StrataFlows can help your organization, like we do other companies, keep workers safely socially distant.

StrataFlows takes very seriously the role we play in keeping parts flowing smoothly, while enabling social distancing.  For example, at such companies as John Deere and Case IH.  Agricultural manufacturers like these need to and can keep operating despite the virus as they have a special designation that recognizes their responsibility to, as the Department of Homeland Security put it, “Keeping farmers and those involved in infrastructure and energy production up and running is essential to food production and our ability to support critical infrastructure needs.”   As such, while many companies have shut down operations, agriculture related companies continue to ask some of their staff to come to work. You can read more about it in this Quad-City Times article

By nature, many of the jobs for manufacturing this essential equipment need to be performed on site, such as the job of assembly worker. However, some roles, such as clerical or administrative roles can be done remotely now, thanks to cloud-enabled solutions.  In the case of those using the Stratawise solution provided by StrataFlows, for example, those expediting parts by working with suppliers can be done from home.  StrataFlows has modules used to ensure part flow that can be used remotely by such staff. By being accessible at anytime from anywhere, workers for these critical organizations that don’t need to be on premise using our software can stay safely distant at home, securely accessing the solution.

At StrataFlows, we’ve always taken our role in serving such organizations very seriously, but in times like these we are even more focused on keeping our Stratawise platform available and secure.  We are aware that hackers are testing the defenses of all IT systems thinking they may be more vulnerable during the outbreak.   Cloud-hosted solutions offer the ability to be at least as secure as on-premise solutions, for example by integrating with a company’s single-sign-on system so there is not an additional password for them to manage.

Are there processes we could enable for remote work from home that could help keep your employees safely distant?

Meanwhile, please know that we ourselves are luckily able to support our platform from home, safely socially distant from others while we monitor the availability and security of the Stratawise platform. We can also help additional customers implement new processes from home—we’ve never had to go onsite to help our customers deploy our software.

StrataFlows Implementation, training and support can, and have, all been done remotely. We can also deploy very quickly given we are cloud hosted and have a very experienced staff that can automate a process in less than a week when needed. If your organization needs a process automated that would enable additional employees to work remotely, please reach out. We can help you without being onsite.  Please reach out to one of our process experts to learn how we can help.
